Gearing Up for #FestivalFever 2018

The Quad Medical management team have been busy over the past few months preparing for the busy summer season ahead. To meet demand we have increased our service capacity and are now able to set up and equip two independent medical centres catering for two major events simultaneously during the summer calendar.

Both med centres house a mixed seated and two bedded minors area, a 10 bed majors department as well as a two bedded resuscitation area and welfare area. To ensure minimal disruption to our clients we have invested in both a logistics and a new crew support unit. These will convey resources to event sites and assist with rapid installation. An additional mobile first aid unit will be of great benefit to our clients and service in supporting festival builds and de-rigs.

Overseas For The Great Escape 2018

The QML team once again teamed up with EMS Oost-Vlaanderen in Ghent Belgium to provide a complete off road solution for the Great Escape 2018.

A Duster & ATV was deployed to ease the pressure on retrieving patients from hard to reach areas across the massive assault course in the heart of Ghent.

Stay tuned for more coming from our trip overseas soon!

QM Invest In New Tech In Interests of Patient Care

As ever Quad Medical are sourcing and embracing new technologies in every aspect of the business to improve upon patient safety and care.

Having reviewed our medications management we are now in the process of installing compact, real time data logging thermometers in all of our drugs bags. This will help us ensure that medications are always stored at the correct temperature and their integrity is maintained so that they remain safe for patient use.

This is just one more innovation QML have invested in to ensure every part of our patient care is safeguarded and mainatined to the high standards we have set for ourselves.

Quad Medical Official Sponsor!

Quad Medical are incredibly proud to be sponsoring one of our very own Quadders, Trainee Advanced Critical Care Practitioner, Emergency Care Nurse Steff O’Shea as she embarks upon her challenge to run 115 miles in one month to raise funds for the incredible children's charity VICTA.

VICTA supports children and young people who are blind or partially sighted and their families across the UK by providing life changing opportunities.

This challenge is not to be underestimated however we truly believe that if anyone can accomplish it, it will be our Steff who continues to inspire us with her unwavering commitment to help those in need. Just one of the many reasons her Quad Family love, admire and support her. Good luck Steff!

If anyone else would like to donate to this fantastic cause and support Steph in her challenge please visit her giving page at...

Snow Hits London & The UK

QML ploughed through the horrendous weather conditions we faced. London and the UK practically grounded to a holt for over a week with treacherous snow and ice. But, as always, we kept all of our clients and customers covered.

The full fleet were deployed to ensure staff could reach the various jobs we had scattered around London & the South East. This included the ATV's and our 4x4 vehicles, which the snow and ice was no match for.

Need a Field Hospital & Welfare Area in 40 Seconds?

Last week we mentioned in a post that we believed we could unload the new support unit in 15 Minutes and set up our field hospital & welfare area at an event in around the same time. We did however, slightly underestimate the time it would take. We did manage the unload in 21 Minutes and the set up in the 19 Minutes, totalling exactly 40 Minutes. Although we wasn’t rushing, may we add!

We feel this is still a massive improvement on how we used to do things, but we understand there is always room for improvement, what ever next?? Watch this space.

QML - Taking Patient Privacy Seriously

At Quad Medical we are always putting our patients at the forefront of all of our innovations. Working on location and sometimes in remote ones means that the management team at Quad need to continue to be forward thinking and come up with creative strategies to enhance our delivery of patient care.

The design and arrival of our new patient privacy screens will ensure our team of specialists can continue to give high quality care whilst preserving the privacy and dignity of our patients on site in even the most challenging event environments.

The Latest Addition To Our Fleet Is Here!

Over the last few months we have been working in the background on streamlining logistics and the ability to set up a field hospital and welfare department in a safer way. As a result we have invested in a new Mercedes LWB Sprinter to assist with more speedy and bigger deployment.

In order to save time whilst on location and strain on the teams backs we have designed everything to be wheeled on and off with no lifting what so ever. We have been able to double the amount of equipment we carry to site, including, increasing bed space from 16 to 32. This new unit is now ready to be deployed and will hit the streets this week.

New Vehicle Coming Soon!

We are getting excited here at QML as we are about to launch the next vehicle in our ever expanding fleet! This new vehicle is sure to enhance and help with the setup and logistics side of our operation.

With the first of the new additions to our fleet due to be in service in the coming week, the new uniforms have arrived just in time and are looking very smart!

Stay tuned to find out more coming soon!

The New & Improved Major Incident Stack

As planning is already underway for some of the rather large 2018 UK festivals, serious and major incidents are top of most agendas. In order to be prepared for all eventualities the QML team have been hard at work attending various multi disciplinary meetings and training days.

To ensure the QML team are ready to assist in any large scale emergencies, we have assembled an easy to access and transport “roll on, roll off” Major Incident Stack. This is designed to be used not just by the medical team, but also by welfare, security and support staff ensuring large numbers of people can be assisted safely and effectively during large scale incidents.

Quad Medical's CQC Report Is In!

At Quad Medical Limited, we are passionate about providing high quality patient care and are very proud of our team. After reading the draft CQC report we are delighted that all of their hard work and dedication has been recognised.

As a dynamic and progressive team we are continuously working to better ourselves and the care we give and have already addressed some of the insightful feedback that the inspection presented. We look forward to continuing with service improvement initiatives and are very grateful to every one involved in not only the CQC inspection its self but also the day to day work that goes into ensuring we are a safe, effective, well led and caring provider.

Back Under The River Thames

Once again, last weekend, over four days, we provided full medical cover at Tower Bridge in the Bascule Chambers for a series of concerts and musical extravaganzas.

The vast space, deep under the River Thames, houses the huge counterweights when the bridge is opened, meaning the performances had to be timed around bridge openings. Composer Iain Chambers, again, created a masterpiece performance that left the audiences amazed.

As always, this was a huge success and we thoroughly enjoy being part of it.

Travelling The UK For Crohn's & Colitis UK

Over the past few months, we've had the pleasure of providing medical cover to the Walk It! Series in support of Crohn's and Colitis UK. Covering these great events has taken us to locations all over the UK, including Plymouth, Edinburgh, Swansea, Bristol, Birmingham, here in London, plus many more.

We deployed cycle response units to assist with the walk itself and also our 4x4 off road vehicles for those harder to reach places. We are pleased to say that every event was a huge success and we look forward to working with them again next year as the series continues to get bigger and better.
